We Bring the Words to Them

Words on Wheels brings books and activities to infants and toddlers.

We've made a difference in our community!

How we deliver the words to the children looks different,
but they are still being delivered at a time when they need it most.
Learn how we are handling it.

When it comes to baby’s brain development,
the steps are easy.

All it takes is a little “brain exercise” – via talking, playing, reading and singing.  At Words on Wheels, that’s what we do. Our volunteers go to places in our local communities where at-risk babies are, and who are not getting as much “brain exercise” as they could.  They bring each child bubbles, a puppet, a musical instrument, and a book at each visit, and engage in play.  It is our goal that all children be provided with early childhood (brain development) opportunities before they start school.

How can you help?

You can join our team of Volunteers and schedule opportunities at our various sites in Waukegan, Zion, and North Chicago to spend time with at-risk children.   See more information in the "Get Involved" page of this website.
